Logistics operator Railsider is progressing with works to expand its Júndiz terminal in Vitoria-Gasteiz, aiming to strengthen operational capacity and diversify the types of freight handled. The project will increase the total occupied area by 80% and enable the existing shed to expand its covered area by 50%, reaching 7,000m².
The terminal has two dual-gauge tracks, anticipating the future arrival of standard gauge via the high-speed line. In addition, the new layout will optimise storage and distribution capacity, both under cover and in the open air.
According to the company’s forecasts, the facilities will be completed and ready to enter service by the end of 2026. The upgraded infrastructure will allow the operation of trains of up to 21 wagons carrying more than 1,000 tonnes of steel products.
