Ouigo España and the train drivers’ union SEMAF have reached an agreement that ends the industrial dispute, signed today. The deal calls off the strike days planned for 6 and 9 November and 4 and 8 December.

Ouigo says all trains scheduled for those four days will operate as normal, in line with its usual timetable and unaffected by the strike call. The operator welcomes the agreement and stresses the importance of dialogue with employee representatives. It also thanks SEMAF and its strike committee for their constructive approach to negotiations.

SEMAF, for its part, maintains that the first two days of industrial action saw total participation, with no trains running after minimum services were suspended. The union attributes the agreement to that pressure. According to the union, the text addresses its demands concerning:

  • Working time.
  • Availability and stability of duty rosters.
  • Rest periods and overtime.
  • Equality in roster rotation and holiday guarantees.
  • Sign-on and sign-off arrangements to eliminate unproductive time shown within a duty period.
  • Limits on the duration of overnight stays.

Neither party has disclosed the agreement’s specific terms.

Companies: Ouigo Spain and SEMAF.
