Trambahía, the Bay of Cádiz tram network managed by the Andalusian regional government’s Consejería de Fomento y Movilidad and operated by Renfe Viajeros, introduces a new service timetable today, Monday 21 September. The move is designed to improve connections with Cercanías services at the Río Arillo interchange.
The addition of two extra daily services, one in each direction, during the peak weekday demand window between 06:30 and 08:30, boosts journeys towards the provincial capital and optimises connections with Cercanías line C-1, while maintaining coordination on services towards Jerez de la Frontera. This makes interchanges easier and cuts overall journey times.
The revised timetable follows an analysis of mobility patterns between Cádiz, San Fernando and Chiclana de la Frontera, tailoring capacity to higher weekday demand and adjusting services on public holidays. The new timetables are available via the Renfe mobile app and the official Trambahía website.
Trambahía is a 24km tram-train with 21 stops, running as a tramway along its first 14km between Chiclana and San Fernando, before joining the RFIG (General Interest Railway Network) at Río Arillo and continuing as a Cercanías train for the final 10km through to Cádiz station.
